This class will focus on major muscle groups such as the arms, back, chest, legs, butt, and abdominals. Specific focus will be on sculpting and building lean muscle. Exercises are adapted for all fitness levels. 


This class consists of cardiovascular and muscle sculpting exercises that keep the training fresh and full of energy! This workout is effective because it covers major fitness components like cardio, endurance, muscle toning, and strength, all of which contribute to improved health and fitness. This 60-minute class begins with cardio and then takes off on a journey through muscle and movement training. Using a step and your body weight in highly effective, athletic ways. allows for increased cardiovascular conditioning and lower body muscle strengthening as well as toning of your core and upper body. The step height is adjustable so each participant can work at their own intensity.


This class is all about mixing it up! Circuit training is the best way to get in a full body workout. Throw in some cardio between strength sets and you have a powerful 45 minute workout that will blast calories and build muscle! Using a variety of equipment or no equipment at all, consistency and repetition are the name of the game. Exercises are adapted for all fitness levels. 


Start your day off right with a great workout! The main focus of this 35 minute class will be on body weight exercises. But don’t be surprised to find some cardio in the mix now and again, as well as functional fitness and muscle confusion! Don’t be fooled by the short class time……this class will be intense! (Of course, this class is for any fitness level so modifications will be given for all exercises!). Be ready to get your Fitness Fusion on so that you can face the rest of your day pumped up and ready to go!


This beginner level exercise class is big on results and easy on your body! A low intensity, low impact approach allows for aerobic conditioning with an emphasis on functional cardio work, and muscle toning with an emphasis on strength and flexibility. It’s all about finding that balance between heart and muscle strength for a total body workout every class! Exercises are adapted for all fitness levels. 


Get ready to swing, mambo, cha cha and twist! This class is a fun filled dance fest to all your favorite songs from the past! We will be rockin’ and rollin’ sock hop style!


This class uses a mind-body conditioning technique that focuses on core stability and coordinated breathing. Focus is on building a longer, leaner, and stronger body by improving muscular symmetry, alignment, posture and flexibility. Participants will move their bodies through precise ranges of motion that lengthen and stretch all the major muscle groups in a balanced fashion. This class will be held at the Salem Track for the Summer sessions. Bring a mat, water and sunscreen. In the event of bad weather, class will be held at the Y. 


This is a basic class for any older adult who would like to improve their muscular strength, range of motion, and activities for daily living. A chair is used for both sitting and standing support. The use of handheld weights, bands and a ball allow for resistance training and muscle toning. There’s also a focus on balance and flexibility in this class. Exercises are adapted for all fitness levels.


Focusing on balance, breathing and stretching, this class flows through a series of standing and seated yoga poses designed to improve flexibility, posture and range of motion. 


This class will improve your flexibility and range of motion. Using a combination of functional stretches and yoga adaptations, you will find yourself reaching further and breathing deeper. Incorporating stretching into your routine will re-energize your muscles and have you feeling refreshed and ready for the rest of your day! 


A results-driven strength training workout utilizing an adjustable step, barbell, weight plates and body weight to blast your muscles. STT combines traditional squats, lunges, presses and curls with functional, integrated exercises to make you fitter and stronger. High rep training, athletic movements, and a periodized training approach are key components of this results driven workout. Add to this, dynamic and motivational music, and it simply is the most fun you’ll have strength training! Exercises are adapted for all fitness levels. Space is limited by equipment availability.


This class incorporates yoga postures, gentle movement sequences, breath work, supported silent meditation, and guided relaxation to support increased awareness and mindfulness of the breath and body, and quieting of the nervous system. It is appropriate for those new to yoga as well as those with plenty of yoga experience – options and modifications are always offered. Each class starts with a flowing series to warm up the spine and heat up the body, followed by a series of held postures to build strength, stability, and stamina. 


Walking is one of the best total body workouts! The benefits of walking range from increased cardiovascular health and muscle strength to better balance and mental focus. Add in some socialization with others and you have the total package! 


A super fun, energy packed, dance party that will have you movin’ and groovin’ to Latin and international rhythms! Get lost in the music, move your feet to the beat and dance your way into shape! It’s all about muscle toning, cardio building, and endurance! The 6 pm class is for Summer I only. 


A lower intensity version of our Zumba class. It’s a dance party to oldies and hits of today! This class utilizes easy to follow Zumba choreography that focuses on balance, range of motion and coordination. It’s exercise in disguise!
